We had an incredible Green Day! 🌍! On 12.10.2023, the Green Day event, organized by Taekwondo Fitness NSA with our collaboration, as part of the Green Belt project, co-funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program, exceeded our expectations. Together with over 200 participants – children, club members, their classmates, parents, and representatives of the local community, we managed to collect more than 600 bags of litter, cleaning up the green areas in the Manastirski Livadi neighborhood, Sofia.
We are extremely pleased with the enthusiasm and eagerness with which the children participated in the initiative, actively helping to contribute to a better local and urban environment. Thanks to the Sofia Municipality and the re-elected mayor of the Triaditsa district, Mr. Dimitar Bozhilov, who also joined the initiative. 🙏
The initiative started with a presentation that included interesting and valuable information about environmental sustainability and the importance of responsible and sustainable behavior for each one of us. The litter collection was accompanied by a Taekwondo demonstration.
In the Green Belt project, we developed a set of “green” requirements as a prerequisite for participating in the next level belt examination. One of the requirements is precisely the involvement or even the organization of initiatives similar to this one. We believe that with such initiatives, we contribute to the education of a more responsible generation, caring for the future of our planet.
