Tae-SHS policy
The SHS Policy is a collaborative effort of three organizations – Taekwondo Fitness NSA, Bulgaria, Sustainable Balkans Association, Bulgaria, and Bursa Olympic Sport Club, Turkey – under the Tae-SHS project funded by the European Union. It is designed to help Taekwondo clubs become more sustainable and set an example for other clubs to follow.
The Policy serves as an internal guiding document for Taekwondo clubs on how to conduct and organize their activities in a more sustainable way. It is the result of an analysis of typical Taekwondo club activities, the revision of internal guiding documents of the sport clubs involved in the project, and feedback and suggestions gathered during an international workshop for trainers and coaches.
The Policy is in line with global strategic documents, such as the World Taekwondo Sustainability strategy, the Guidelines of the International Olympic Committee – Sustainability Management in Sport, and Sustainable sourcing guidelines for branding and signage materials.
By implementing the SHS Policy, Taekwondo clubs can contribute to the global efforts in combating climate change. The Policy aims to inspire local clubs to fully adhere to green behavior and thinking, and to further efforts to implement sustainability strategies and procedures on a local level.
