| In a remarkable series of events, the Martial Arts community, under the Green Belt project, came together to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility. Across Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Romania, and in an International gathering, coaches and practitioners engaged in virtual meetings to discuss the integration of green belt requirements developed within the Green Belt project. The concept of the requirements is to imbue the martial art belt system with new meaning by incorporating green education and requirements into theoretical and practical training and examinations. Meeting the Green Belt requirements will enable trainees to progress to the next belt, symbolizing not only their martial art skills but also their efforts in preserving the planet. These events, conducted through various platforms like Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet, collectively attracted participants from diverse clubs and backgrounds. Coaches and trainers shared commitment to building a more sustainable Martial Arts community. Feedback from the events revealed a strong positive response, with participants expressing willingness to adopt Green belt concept within their clubs. The success of these gatherings demonstrates the Martial Arts community’s dedication to environmental responsibility and the recognized role of coaches as advocates for a greener, healthier planet and a factor of change for stimulating more sustainable behavior among their athletes. Stay tuned as we continue this exciting journey towards a sustainable future in Martial Arts with the Green Belt initiative! 🌍 |
