The Green Belt project ends

As we bid farewell to this month, we celebrate the culmination of an exciting journey—the Green Belt Project. Funded under the Erasmus+ Small Scale Partnership, this project has been a remarkable adventure.

We embarked on an incredible journey, developing the set of Green Belt requirements and organizing over 10 impactful events throughout Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, and Romania. Beyond Taekwondo practice, we initiated environmental initiatives in each program country, connecting Taekwondo with environmental protection. Together, we collected over 700 bags of garbage, cleaning our surroundings, and aiding nature reserves by combating invasive plants.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone for your outstanding work and unwavering efforts!

The Green Belt Project aimed at promoting environmental responsibility and sustainability in the sports sector. Coordinated by Taekwondo Fitness NSA, the project kicked off in January and will continue until the year’s end.

Our objective is to make Taekwondo a sport that promotes environmental responsibility by educating athletes/trainees on sustainability, introducing green ethics, and fostering the concept of “green athletes.” The project seeks to imbue the martial art belt system with new meaning by incorporating green education and requirements in the theoretical and practical training and examination of Taekwondo trainees. Meeting these requirements will enable trainees to progress to the next belt, symbolizing not only their martial art skills but also their efforts in preserving the planet. Co-financed by the EU under the Erasmus+ program.
