Progress towards Climate Neutrality in the EU

The European Union is making impressive strides toward its climate goals, with a remarkable 8% reduction in net greenhouse gas emissions last year! This drop was driven by a decline in coal usage, increased renewable energy, and reduced energy consumption across Europe, according to the latest report from the European Environment Agency (EEA) published yesterday. In 2023, the EU’s emissions hit 37% below 1990 levels, putting the EU back on track towards climate neutrality after a slow-down during the recent crises.
