Pay attention to plastic food packaging as it may be harmful for our health

A recent European Environment Agency (EEA) briefing, drawing data from a comprehensive EU human biomonitoring study of the HBM4EU project, has sent shockwaves throughout the European Union. The study reveals that an astonishing up to 100% of participants from 11 EU countries have been exposed to dangerous levels of Bisphenol A (BPA), surpassing safe health thresholds. This revelation is raising significant concerns about the health of the broader EU population.

Adding to the alarm, according with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) BPA is capable of harming the human immune system even at very low doses. AT the same time BPA is known to have adverse health effects as endocrine disruption, reduced fertility, and allergic skin reactions.

BPA is commonly found in plastic materials marked with a #7 symbol, but it is important to note that not all #7-labeled plastics contain this harmful chemical. With the situation evolving, it is advisable to exercise vigilance when dealing with plastics to minimize exposure to BPA.

This revelation underscores the importance of informed and responsible consumption as we navigate the potential risks associated with everyday products and the presence of Bisphenol A.
